Back To School Time

School starts on Monday, August 24th at Saint Paul College.

Thought I’d post some of the main announcements and updates here so I don’t forget ‘em.

• MAC LAB



Just finished getting our Mac Lab up on the fourth floor configured to dual boot Mac OS X and Windows XP. We will also be having open lab hours for Fall Semester on Tuesdays and Thursday from 3 to 5.

• SkyDrive

Students can get up to 25GB of free storage space using Skydrive through Microsoft. Students need to sign up using their new student email account. Very handy place to store homework files, plus any photo/music/video files you want to access from anywhere in the world.

• Online Orientation

Enrollment services put together a great Online Orientation Presentation. Strongly recommended for students starting their first semester at SPC.

• D2L Signup

I plan on using Desire 2 Learn for some of my classes this semester. To initially sign up, click on tinyurl.com/spcd2l

• New Student Emails

Students will need to migrate from

username@student.saintpaul.edu to username@my.saintpaul.edu

by September 30th. The old email account will quit working on October 1st.

• Dinner Theater

Last but not least, SPC is putting on a theatrical production in cooperation with the culinary arts program this school year. It’s the first time the SPC theater has been used since the early 70′s. Auditions for “Our Town” will be during the first month of Fall Semester and the dinner and a play production is scheduled for April 16 and 17 this spring.
