PC Tuneups

By dpearson

Found a nice little article here at Maximum PC for improving your PCs performance. I’ve been frustrated lately with Firefox, seems to take forever and a day to load. Anyone else had similar problems?

New Plugin for my Blog

By dpearson

Just added Postmaster to my WordPress blog. It’s not too complicated to setup mobile posting for WordPress, there’s a nice setup guide HERE. The trouble is you can use any photo attachments. Searched and found a great plugin called Postmaster from Brett Duncavage which allows me to take pictures with my mobile phone and upload them directly to my blog. Very cool. Expect to see more mobile posts in the future.

Excellent Virtual Web-Based Desktop

By dpearson

Found an excellent Virtual Desktop program called GHOST that is really amazing. I’ve tried a couple of others like Desktop2 and EyeOS but this one is really slick. Can create documents and spreadsheets, browse the web and email, access up to 5GB of storage plus it has mobile support. I’ve uploaded a bunch of mp3s which I can now access and play anywhere I can open a browser.

If you signup, please use my username as the referal: dpearson100@g.ho.st. Would love to hear other peoples feedback on this tool.

Build a Better Blog

By dpearson

Found two great articles I want to post about. The first is called “31 Days to Build a Better Blog”. Looks like you have to sign up for free and they email you a tip or task every day for a month. I plan on doing this as soon as finals are over at SPC.

The other article is something I plan on showing my portfolio students, 30 Days to Become a Freelancer. Looks like I forgot to mention a few of these things in class like setting up a Paypal account and setting up your contact info with Formspring but still covered most of these topics in class.

Added Contact Page

By dpearson

Just added a Contact section to my blog, courtesy of the people at Perishable Press. Looks like it works. Feel free to use it and let me know what you think. I may have to play around with the CSS customization. I’d like to make the text form area larger.
